A hiker steps down a rocky forest trail wearing a knee sleeve on each knee

The climb is fine. It's the way down that gets you.

You reach the top, take in the view and then it starts. Every step down your knees brake your whole body, for miles, on legs that already did the climb.

That's the stretch of trail Ridgebrace is made for.

Going down, your legs do the braking

On every step down the muscles above your knee catch your weight and slow you down. Do that for a few miles on legs that already did the climb and you feel it. That's why the way down feels harder than the way up.

  • Stays where it should

A silicone grip band holds the top in place, so the sleeve stays around your knee all the way down instead of sliding to your shin.

  • Light enough to keep on

A thin knit you don't have to take off at the top. Pull it on before the descent and forget about it.

What's in the sleeve

Knee sleeve on a hiker's knee on a forest trail, top folded down to show the grey band with silicone dots
Stays put when you step down Rows of silicone dots inside the top band grip your skin, so you're not stopping to pull it up every mile.
Light enough for a full day A thin knit you can wear from the trailhead back to the car.
Moves with your knee Four-way stretch knit that bends with you on every step down.
Both knees covered Both knees brake on the way down, so the Trail Set gives you one for each.

How to wear it

  1. Measure your thigh

Measure around your thigh about 4 in (10 cm) above the knee and pick your size. Between two sizes, take the bigger one.

  2. Pull it on before the descent

Slide it up over your knee with the grip band on your thigh and smooth out any folds.

  3. Head down at your own pace

Take short steps and keep a little bend in your knees. The sleeve gives you a bit of extra support on every step down.

Enes and his dad at the sea at sunset

I made this for my dad

My dad loves a long hike, and it was always the way down that got him. He used to wear a knee brace for support. I went looking for something simpler he could wear with his poles. Now he wears it on the trail.
